  • Southeastern Friends: this year's accomplishments

Each year, the Friends leave a lasting imprint on the park, and this year was no different. Their passion for parks is unmatched, and make our parks better for all who visit. Here are some of the amazing 2018 project accomplishments from the southeastern Friends:

  • What a difference a year makes!

Today’s post comes to us from Naturalist Yvette Bree of Sandbanks Provincial Park. • More group sites available to book online

Looking for a fun way to camp with a bunch of people? Consider group campsites! We’re happy to announce that group campsites can now be reserved online and via our call centre for an additional 25 provincial parks.

  • Forever thankful for our Friends

In light of Ontario Parks’ 125th anniversary celebrations and the International Day of Friendship (July 30), this post highlights the history of hard work and support Friends organizations have provided provincial parks over the years.

  • Saving sand by planting grass

Crave the warm welcome, soft bed, and hearty meals of a bed & breakfast on your travels? Eager to explore Ontario’s breathtaking natural landscapes? Why not do both? Book a stay in a cozy bed & breakfast, and use it as a homebase for daily excursions into parks. We chatted with the Federation of Ontario Bed & Breakfast Accommodation…

  • Sandbanks saves trees

When it comes to tree-planting, Sandbanks Provincial Park goes all out. But did you know this Prince Edward County provincial park rescues trees, too? The park uses an arsenal of traps, invisible fences, GPS and companion trees to target diseases and insects that attack Ontario trees.

  • Sandbanks superhero wins Ecological Integrity Award

We’re proud to announce the winner of this year’s Ontario Parks Ecological Integrity Award: Yvette Bree, our Natural Heritage Education Coordinator at Sandbanks Provincial Park! Yvette has given decades of dedicated, passionate service, protecting the ecological integrity of one of our busiest parks.

  • Memories are made of this…
