Dogs welcome in select Ontario Parks cabins and yurts!

Did you know dogs are welcome in select yurts and cabins across the Ontario Parks system?

Here’s what to know:

How much does it cost to bring my dog?

Dog friendly roofed accommodations fee: additional $40 per stay (for 1-2 dogs).

Dog owners are responsible for any damages caused by their pet(s).

Which cabins and yurts are dog friendly?

The following cabins, yurts and trailers are open to four-legged guests:

  • Algonquin Provincial Park (Mew Lake): Yurt 39, Cabin 37
  • Arrowhead Provincial Park: Cabin 224
  • Bon Echo Provincial Park: Yurt 153, Cabin 612
  • Charleston Lake Provincial Park: Yurt 315C
  • Fushimi Lake Provincial Park: Cabin 43
  • Killarney Provincial Park: Yurt 6, Cabin 138
  • MacGregor Point Provincial Park: Yurt 90
  • Pancake Bay Provincial Park: Yurt 365
  • Pinery Provincial Park: Yurt 480C
  • Rene Brunelle Provincial Park: Cabin 100
  • Rushing River Provincial Park: Trailer 403, Trailer 405
  • Silent Lake Provincial Park: Yurt 5, Cabin 201
  • Sleeping Giant Provincial Park: Cabin 4
  • Windy Lake Provincial Park: Cabin 201

Why aren’t ALL roofed accommodations dog friendly?

We want to make sure we’re balancing everyone’s needs.

Some of our campers have medical conditions that prevent them from sharing spaces with pets. Others may simply prefer to enjoy a dog-free space (much like our designated dog-free campgrounds). This way, there’s an option for everyone.

Wait, what about campers who have pet allergies?

Don’t worry — only select roofed accommodations will welcome dogs. If you or a fellow camper has an allergy, you’ll be able to choose from our dog-free options.

Can I bring my cat? What about other pets?

No. No other pets are permitted in roofed accommodations.

Can I bring more than one dog?

The limit is two dogs per roofed accommodation, regardless of the size of the dog(s).

Are there any off-leash or dog friendly areas in your parks?

Absolutely. Many parks have designated dog beaches or exercise areas (both on- and off-leash). Find the list here.

Is there anything else I should know?

Yes! Please:

  • ensure dog food is stored in the roofed accommodation (if a cabin) or in your vehicle.
  • ensure your dog is housetrained, and be sure to clean up after your pup
  • ensure your dog stays on a leash at all times it is outside the roofed accommodation
  • do not leave your dog alone in the cabin or yurt

Following these rules helps us protect our parks — we really appreciate your cooperation!
