Northeastern Ontario
Mikisew Provincial Park
There are three sand beaches for swimming located along Eagle Lake in Mikisew Provincial Park. The lake is also great for boating, paddling and fishing.
While you are there, check out their new 18 hole disc golf course!
Mikisew is just over 2 hours away from Barrie and 2.5 hours from Sudbury.
Restoule Provincial Park
Paddle along the base of the Stormy Lake Bluffs, or hike to the top for a view of the local landscape. More than 90 species of birds frequent the waters and forests of Restoule, including Peregrine Falcons, Bald Eagles, and Osprey.
Restoule is 1 hour south of North Bay, and 2 hours north of Orillia.
Northwestern Ontario
Rushing River Provincial Park
Rushing River is a favourite family camping destination with beaches, playgrounds, hiking trails and endless opportunities for exploring.
Rushing River is 2.5 hours from Winnipeg.
Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park
Kakabeka Falls is the second highest waterfall in Ontario with year-round access for viewing. The park offers excellent views of the falls and gorge from the boardwalk that wraps around the top of the falls.
Kakabeka Falls is 30 minutes from Thunder Bay.
Near North
Six Mile Lake Provincial Park
This wonderful family campground contains landscapes that have inspired painters. The park is ideal for paddlers of all ability levels, and canoes are available for rent at the park store. Three hiking trails offer visitors the opportunity to take in the natural and cultural heritage of Six Mile Lake.
Six Mile Lake is less than 2 hours from Toronto, and 40 minutes from Barrie.
Oastler Lake Provincial Park
This hidden gem has wonderful views all around the campground! The Boyne River flows through the park, and is minutes from Parry Sound and Georgian Bay. If you are looking for hiking trails Killbear Provincial Park is moments away up the road.
Oastler Lake is just over 2 hours from both Toronto and Sudbury.
Southwestern Ontario
Bronte Creek Provincial Park
Bronte Creek offers two interpretive centres. Spruce Lane Farmhouse showcase life of the early farmer. The Nature Centre is located next to the big Red Play Barn and Children’s Farm. Kids love to visit with turtles and explore hands-on in our discovery room.
Bronte Creek is 30 minutes from Hamilton, and 1 hour from Toronto.
Port Burwell Provincial Park
In addition to hiking and biking opportunities, the park boasts a children’s playground, volleyball/badminton courts, horseshoe pits, baseball diamond, disc golf course, and basketball foul shooting court.
Port Burwell is 1 hour from London and 2.5 hours from Niagara Falls.
Southeastern Ontario
Darlington Provincial Park
At Darlington, you will find a beautiful stretch of sandy beach on the shores of Lake Ontario. The sheltered waters of McLaughlin Bay are ideal for canoes and paddleboats.
Darlington is less than 1 hour from Toronto, 2 hours from Kingston, and 20 minutes from Oshawa.
Fitzroy Provincial Park
Located at the junction of the meandering Carp River and the mighty Ottawa River, Fitzroy offers great family camping with lots of swimming and hiking nearby. The park is a great base for exploring the Ottawa Valley and the nation’s capital.
Fitzroy is 50 minutes from Ottawa and just over 2 hours from Kingston.
